What was first called the "Utica Foundry" in 1822, on the banks of the Erie Canal, became Hart & Crouse. See the storey below.

We're researching, however it is very likely the early Utica Foundry supplied parts to companies such as; Russel Wheeler & Son, Carton Furnace Company, J. F. Pease Furnace Company, Howard Furnace Company and Kernan Furnace Company.

The following 1986 map shows numerous buildings of both wood (yellow) and brick (red) construction. They're mainly located where the present day Utica Police maintenance garage is located...
